April 26 2004 Chatsworth California. MCFIII
Corporation today announced the introduction of MyCyberFriend,
an exciting Artificial Intelligence like program for children to chat
and make new friends. Stressing safety and fun, the program enables children
to talk with human-like robots. These robot friends can chat about different
free flowing topics, and they become friendlier as the conversation lengthens.
"MCF is based on the assumption that children enjoy emulating ‘BIG
KIDS’ as they chat online. In 2003, thirty million kids in this age
group were online with computers, and they want to chat with someone, anyone,”
said Scott McTyre, president of MCFIII. “MyCyberFriend provides a place
safe from Internet predators or even from other mean children in chat rooms.
MyCyberFriend provides free flowing chat that permits 8-12 yr olds to interact
on virtually any topic that might interest that age group.”
MCF creates a fun safe harbor for children to chat on the Internet. Adhering
closely to the COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), MyCyberFriend
never collects personal information that would allow a way for a REAL human
to contact them. There are two main Friends: a robot boy and girl that think
and act like humans. This helps the child feel that he or she is interacting
with a REAL friend
.
The introductory version of MyCyberFriend is designed to provide fun and entertainment.
Future versions will focus more on education with modules that target specific
subjects such as math, science, Spanish, and other languages.
MCFIII Corporation in Chatsworth, California was founded in 2001with the goal
